Satyagraha is a 2013 Hindi political drama film directed by Prakash Jha starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Amrita Rao and Vipin Sharma in the lead roles.[5][6][7] The first look of the film was released on September 10, 2012.[8][9] Satyagraha was released on August 30, 2013, although it released in the UAE one day before on August 29.[2][10] The teaser was released online on May 30, 2013 and theatrically attached with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.Upon release, the movie received mixed reviews from critics. Retired teacher Dwarka Anand (Amitabh Bachchan) is an idealistic man. His engineer son Akhilesh's friend Manav (Ajay Devgan) is an ambitious capitalist. Manav cherishes his friend - who suddenly dies. Minister Balram Singh (Manoj Bajpai) announces compensation which Akhilesh's wife Sumitra (Amrita Rao) cannot get despite daily applications in government offices. Incensed, Dwarka slaps an arrogant official and gets imprisoned. Manav starts a campaign to free him, using social media, roping in Arjun Singh (Arjun Rampal) and journalist Yasmin (Kareena Kapoor). As hopeful students, hungry labourers and angry middle class citizens join in the agitation, politicians panic. Cast Satyagraha acquired channel veteran CNN Chief International Correspondent and journalist Christiane Amanpour in a role mirroring her real-life occupation as an international television correspondent.[30] Kareena Kapoor travelled to Dubai with her stylist to choose offbeat and chic attire that completed her look of an international journalist. Jha visualised Kareena's role as that of a reporter who keeps a tab on the entire movement and reports at the international level. The director was reportedly influenced by the huge fan following that Amanpour, famous for her reportage from war zones, enjoys.[31] The film, starring Amitabh Bachchan as social activist Anna Hazare, was shot mainly in Bhopal and New Delhi. The state-of-the-art news studio set was built in Bhopal as it offered more space. Ralegan Siddhi (village of Anna Hazare), a small village in Maharashtra with a population of roughly 2,500 people, served as one of the main shooting locations.[32] Amitabh Bachchan plays a man who is a firm believer of truth, akin to a new age Gandhi while Ajay plays an ambitious entrepreneur who represents the philosophy of modern India. Manoj Bajpai plays the role of a wily politician who uses every means to break the system.[33] The shooting of Satyagraha began in February 2013 in Bhopal.[34][35][36][37][38][39] After that, the production unit headed to Ralegan Siddhi. Ajay started shooting for Satyagraha in Bhopal in February 2013.[40][41] Amitabh Bachchan stayed at the heritage Noor-Us-Sabah Palace Hotel, whose Gauhar Taj suite was being renovated.[42][43] Satyagraha was also shot at the IES College campus, Bhopal.[44] It was speculated that the film also more than just touches upon the 2G spectrum scam that rocked the nation.[45] Prakash Jha also had a small presence in the film.

Madras Cafe Movie Stills 2013

Madras Cafe is a 2013 Indian political espionage thriller film directed by Shoojit Sircar and starring John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri and Rashi Khanna in lead roles.[1][6][7][8] The film is set in the late 1980s and early '90s, during the time of Indian intervention in the Sri Lankan civil war and assassination of former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.[9][10] Madras Cafe was released on August 23, 2013. The film impressed most of the Indian critics and finished its theatrical run at the box office with 42 cr nett.[11][12] As per John Abraham, "Madras Cafe brings us closer to what changed the political history of India."[13] The film, set in India and Sri Lanka, is a political spy thriller with the backdrop of the Sri Lankan civil war.[6] Major Vikram Singh (John Abraham) is an Indian Army special officer who is appointed by the intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing to head covert operations in Jaffna shortly after Indian peace-keeping force was forced to withdraw.[6][14][15] As he journeys to Sri Lanka, with the intention of disrupting the LTF rebels, he becomes entangled in rebel and military politics.[16] There he meets a British journalist (Jaya Sahni)[17] who wants to reveal the truth about the civil war, and in the process he uncovers a conspiracy to assassinate "a former Indian prime minister".[16] "The film is a work of fiction, but it is based on research into real events, it has a resemblance to actual political events, dealing with civil war and the ideology of a rebel group.", said director Sirkar.[16] John Abraham as Major Vikram Singh (Indian army officer appointed by the Research and Analysis Wing to carry out operations in Jaffna). Singh is fictitious, Sircar said he had "used real references, portrayed rebel groups, revolutionary freedom fighters, Indian Peace Keeping Forces and shown how India got involved and the chaos".[14] "I didn't want to make glitzy thriller like Ek Tha Tiger or Agent Vinod, which seem inspired by the James Bond template. I want to show that intelligence officers are ordinary people who live amongst us. It is only that they have to solve issues where national security is at stake," says Sircar. Sircar says he needed an actor who can easily get lost in the crowd but with John Abraham it seems next to impossible. "The role also requires a certain level of physicality and John Abraham has worked for the role. I agree this is a new territory for him but I think he has pitched it right. Let's see how the audiences take him."[18] Nargis Fakhri as Jaya Sahni (a British war correspondent in Sri Lanka, inspired by many war correspondents, including Anita Pratap[13]) As for Fakhri, Sircar says her voice has not been dubbed. "Nargis Fakhri is playing a foreign war correspondent. I needed a girl who looks Indian journalist but has an accent so there is no chance that audience will remember her Rockstar performance while watching Madras CafĂ©. She will converse in English and she is familiar with the language," says Sircar.[18] Rashi Khanna as Ruby Singh,[19] wife of Singh[20] Siddhartha Basu as Robin Dutt (RD), Chief of Research and Analysis Wing.[21] He is Major Singh’s mentor and appoints him to take sole responsibility of executing the covert operations in Sri Lanka Ajay Rathnam as Anna Bhaskaran, the leader of the fictional LTF rebels. The character closely resembles the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.[22][23] Prakash Belawadi[24] as Bala, Major Vikram Singh's superior in Jaffna. Due to his long stint in Sri Lanka, Bala is the only one who has first-hand information on the reality of the situation. As Major Singh arrives to execute his covert operation, Bala and his team helps him to get access to locations and people who are crucial to make the operation successful. Tinu Menachery[25] as a Tamil rebel Agnello Dias[26] as a Sri Lankan minister Piyush Pandey as the Cabinet Secretary of India[27] Dibang[28] as a former intelligence officer Leena Maria Paul as a Tamil rebel

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara! Movie Stills 2013

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara!

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara!
Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara![2] (abbreviated as OUATIMD and previously known as Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Again) is a 2013 Indian crime gangster film directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. A sequel to the 2010 film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan in leading roles and Sonali Bendre in a supporting role. The first trailer of the film was released on 28 May 2013. The film, on the other hand, released on 15 August 2013 to coincide with the national holiday on the eve of Independence Day in India. The release date of the film was pushed further by the producers to avoid clashing with Rohit Shetty's film Chennai Express, which released on 9 August 2013.[1] This is the third collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha as a pair (after 2012 films Rowdy Rathore and Joker), and the first between Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan. Upon release, however, the film received mixed to negative reviews.[6] It also failed to perform well at the box office, being declared a "Flop" by Box Office India. The film commences from where the previous film ended with Shoaib Khan (Akshay Kumar) being the reigning don after successfully assassinating his mentor Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgn) thus earning the respect and reverence of the people. 12 years later, he is still the charismatic and suave womaniser who has extended his empire up to the Middle East. His only companions and friends are Javed (Sarfaraz Khan), who oversees his illegal and shady work for him, his old-time love Mumtaz (Sonali Bendre) and Aslam (Imran Khan), a youth spotted by Shoaib during one of his visits to the slums, where he spent the early years of his life. Now a much older Shoaib returns to Bombay to finish off Rawal (Mahesh Manjrekar), another gangster. Although the city still is his first love, a rising starlet, Jasmine (Sonakshi Sinha) has caught the fancy of Shoaib's heart. Jasmine is an upcoming movie actor, whom Shoaib makes famous, and showers with gifts. In due time, this passion takes the shape of obsession for Shoaib. On the other hand, he sends Aslam along with another trustworthy goon, Jimmy, to finish off Rawal. As they arrive, Rawal switches the lights off and Jimmy unknowingly kills Rawal's apparent girlfriend. Rawal flees, and soon, Jimmy is arrested. The police keep him for less than 10 minutes before letting him go. The police's plan is to make it look like Jimmy has turned on Shoaib, so that Shoaib arrives to finish Jimmy off, and then they will capture him. Aslam suspects this, and decides to go get Jimmy himself instead of Shoaib. As Aslam arrives, the police gather around and attack. Aslam gets Jimmy but is interrupted by a police inspector. Shoaib appears and injures the inspector, before shooting Jimmy dead after accusing him of betrayal. Shoaib and Aslam escape from the scene after a long chase by the police. By this time, Shoaib has fallen in love with Jasmine who is also befriended by Aslam. Slowly, however, this friendship turns into love. When Shoaib decides to buy Jasmine a house, she realizes that he loves her, and bluntly tells him that she considers him as a friend. Disappointed, Shoaib reacts violently, slaps her and forces her to leave. Angered, he goes to her film shoot and destroys some of the set. Jasmine, realizing that things will only get worse, decides to return to Shoaib. As Aslam tries to confess his love to her, she tells him that they cannot meet again. By then, Shoaib sends Aslam to pick Jasmine up who is shocked to see her as Shoaib's love. At this point, Rawal attacks Jasmine. When Shoaib comes to the hospital, he starts saying that Aslam and he both love the same girl, which a scared Aslam denies. To this, Shoaib says it is not true, but it must seem like that from now on, so that Rawal assumes that Aslam has turned against Shoaib and thus comes to him so they could make use of the opportunity and mislead him. The plan works, and Shoaib manages to kill Rawal in front of a huge crowd. This puts the police on high alert who decide not to lose Shoaib's trail at any cost. While joyous over his victory of killing Rawal, he returns to an unconscious Jasmine in the hospital. Aslam is with her in the hospital, and has decided to leave her and go away after Shoaib comes in. Aslam's friend (Pitobash) who is driving Shoaib back, mentions that the girl Aslam loves is Jasmine. Shoaib reacts furiously, deciding to destroy Aslam. Aslam's friend warns them that they are in danger and Aslam runs away with Jasmine. Shoaib finds out that the friend helped them flee, and sends his dead body back to Aslam along with his goons to kill Aslam. They are unable to kill him. Aslam then calls Shoaib, saying he will now only live for Jasmine. Shoaib says that no one will touch Aslam now as he is coming to kill him. A major fight takes place between Shoaib and Aslam. After several attacks of Shoaib, police arrive and shoot at Shoiab but Aslam gets hit with a bullet in his shoulder when he pushes Shoaib away in order to save him. Shoaib is taken aback at this. Jasmine runs to comfort Aslam, and pleads Shoaib to go away, condemning the person that Shoaib is. The police fire again at Shoaib. The next scene is where Javed drags Shoaib away. Finally, an injured Shoaib is shown reading the letter he wanted to give to Jasmine while returning on a ship.
